Second edition, revised. Folio. Quarter green buckram over green cloth, with gilt titles to the spine. Profusely illustrated with photographs of topiary, sundials, pergolas, bridges, garden ornaments, water gardens, lakes etc. A very good copy, some discolouration to upper boards.
A wonderful book on the uses of garden ornament, reminding the reader of the importance of scale and importance of positioning. Featuring mainly gardens of stately homes, such as Cliveden House, the book offers practical advice that can be transferred to smaller garden design.
