First edition. Top edge gilt. 8vo. Red cloth, with gilt titles to spine. Sixteen charming colour illustrations of Italian scenes by George Elgood, with head and tail pieces by William Scott. A very good copy, spine a little faded and corners with light bumping.
One of the 7s 6d series. This copy a variant with black titles to the upper cover. Inman's bibliography lists no reprints. Alfred Austin, poet laureate, describes in poetry and prose a sojourn in a Tuscan Villa above Florence.
