WOOLF, Virginia

RARE FIRST ISSUE

WOOLF, Virginia On Being Ill

Hogarth Press, 1930.

First edition, first issue. Preliminary state, one of only of 25 copies in which the original printed limitation reads "125 copies", this is ruled through and 250 copies is printed above. Inscribed 'Out of series' by Leonard Woolf, and signed by Virginia Woolf. Original quarter vellum over turquoise cloth boards in pictorial dustwrapper. A fine copy in a very good dustwrapper, which has minor wear to the corners and spine ends with a small scratch to the spine. An attractive copy.

Leonard Woolf stated that this limited edition was heavily oversubscribed, and that probably after printing the free copies, it was decided to double the number of copies printed.
