Author's presentation copy, inscribed on the title page, "For Joe Hunt / With best wishes and thanks / Bruce Chatwin / 9 Nov '83" A near fine copy with a couple of small indentations to the bottom edge of the boards, in a fine dustwrapper.
Winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. The author's third novel, concerning happenings on the Welsh border over the course of a century. Presentation copies of Chatwin's work are rare.
