Deluxe issue, 7th edition of the book. 8vo. Publisher's blue limp roan, with gilt titles, gilt vignettes to the upper cover and elaborate gilt decoration to the spine. All edges gilt and silk page marker present. Almost every page of the book, including endpapers, is decorated with line drawings by E.H. Shepard. A near fine copy, with slight fading to the spine and neat initials on the free front end paper.
In 1925 Methuen decided to celebrate the success of Milne's first book of children's verses When We Were Very Young which was just going into its tenth edition. To do this they introduced these deluxe roan editions, in full leather with extra gilt.
