First edition. Original orange cloth lettered in black in second issue pictorial dustwrapper. A near fine copy with foxing to the page edges in a very good dustwrapper indeed which is clean and crisp with a short closed tear and a small nick to the front panel and some marks to the reverse of the dustwrapper.
This copy has the original first edition dustwrapper, which has been publisher price clipped, and 3/6 over printed on the spine. Only one edition was published by the Bodley Head, so it is likely that the lower price was for remaindered copies. It is a rare dustwrapper in any state.
