Poo-Poo and the Dragons

FORESTER, C.S. / LAWSON, Robert

FORESTER, C.S. Poo-Poo and the Dragons

Michael Joseph, 1942.

First edition. 8vo. Publisher's orange and red decorated cloth, in the original pictorial dustwrapper. Delightful line drawings by Robert Lawson throughout. A superb copy. A fine copy in a near fine dustwrapper, the spine a little toned.

Uncommon. A children's story about the escapades of Horatio the dragon, from an author more famous for his Horatio Hornblower novels and The African Queen.
Like so many popular children's tales this story was told by the author to his son, George, who suffered from food allergies and didn't want to eat. Forester made up the stories to tell during meal times, but would only tell them if George kept eating his meal.
