First edition, first issue with 'visiter' for 'sister' on p.123. Finely bound by Bayntun-Riviere in full red crushed morocco, with raised bands, gilt borders to covers and titles to spine. Gilt cartouche depicting Dickens in an oval frame to the upper cover and his signature embossed in gilt to the lower cover. Marbled endpapers and gilt inner dentelles. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Steel engraved frontispiece of Dickens after D. Maclise, and 39 full page steel engraved plates in the text by Phiz (Halbot Browne). A very good copy indeed with couple of repaired closed tears internally. Binding very clean and bright.
