Written as a eulogy to King Edward VII, whom Kipling praises as a wise servant of his people. The King died on May 6th, 1910 and this poem was first printed in, amongst other newspapers, The Times, on 18 May 1910. In this deluxe edition, the poem is beautifully decorated by William Heath Robinson.
