Dymer

[LEWIS, C.S.] Clive Hamilton

[LEWIS, C.S.] Clive Hamilton Dymer

Dent, 1926.

First edition. Original blue cloth with mock-snakeskin design with titles in gilt to the spine and black vignette to the upper cover. A very good copy with slight toning to the spine, a little wear at its base and a short tear to the fore-edge of the half title.

C.S.Lewis's second book, published like his first, under the pseudonym comprising his Christian name and his mother's maiden name. An epic narrative poem which he began writing in his first year at Oxford, before breaking off for the War. It is clearly influenced by Spencer and Milton, but also by Norse mythology.
