First edition, limited to 66 copies. Original publisher's red morocco over limp boards, lettered in gilt to spine and upper cover, in original glassine and publisher's card box. A fine copy, virtually as new, with small chips to the glassine and and trivial wear to the box. An exceptional copy.
In the summer of 1867, Dodgson and Canon Liddon undertook a tour of Russia, travelling via Berlin, Brussels and Cologne and returning via Dresden and Paris. The manuscript of Dodgson's diary for the expedition was acquired by Carroll collector M.L. Parrish, who published this transcript for private distribution.
