First edition. Original brown paper wrappers with titles and vignette to the upper cover in black. Author's presentation copy, inscribed to fellow poet, Walter de la Mare, "For the desk, or waste paper basket, of Mr Walter de la Mare / Lawrence Durrell". A very good copy, with the wrappers internally reinforced with tissue repairing a long closed tear to the upper cover (now virtually invisible). Very clean with no mentionable loss, an extremely well preserved example of this fragile rarity.
The author's scarce second book, which was published in small numbers, many of which were destroyed during the Blitz.
