First edition, first state with the terminal 'N' missing from 'London' on the title page. 12mo. Green paper covered boards with green lettering and pictorial onlay to upper cover. Illustrated throughout in colour by the author. Character illustrations to the endpapers. A very good copy indeed, bright with a crease to the spine and a little scattered red splash to the foreedge of the rear board.
The first printing of this work contained an error on the title-page, where the terminal 'N' is missing from 'London' in the imprint. This error was quickly corrected, so copies of the first issue are scarce.
