First edition. 12mo. Dark green paper covered boards with white lettering and pictorial onlay to upper cover. Pictorial endpapers and 27 colour illustrations by the author. A near fine copy, crisp and bright, spine,lightly faded and with occasional slight looseness between sections.
Leslie Linder writes, "Beatrix Potter frequently visited her uncle and aunt at Gwaynynog, a fine old house in Denbigh, North Wales. She was staying wit then in March 1909 when working on the illustrations for The Tale of Flopsy Bunnies, so it was natural that she should choose their garden as the setting for the story."
