A charming early edition of this little book of verse. 12mo. Pictorial onlay to upper cover. Twelve colour plates by Barker and numerous line drawings and decorative endpapers. A near fine copy with wear to the head and tail of the spine, in a very good dustwrapper, with light edge wear and a couple of short tears to the folds.
Contains popular rhymes including, The Owl and The Pussy Cat, The Walrus and the Carpenter and Soldier, Soldier. The verses are by various authors including, Christina Rossetti, R.L. Stevenson, Walter de la Mare, Eleanor Farjeon, Rudyard Kipling and many others.
