First edition. 4to. Red cloth elaborately decorated in gilt to spine and upper cover, all edges red. Thirty-two colour illustrations with captioned tissue guards. A very good copy indeed, just a little pushing to the spine top.
Goble's illustrations to these stories are beautifully rendered in strong bright colours, and he faithfully represents Eastern themes in a romantic manner whilst remaining true to the tale he is illustrating.
