First edition with Yunge-Bateman illustrations. Large 8to. Publisher's maroon cloth covered boards, gilt lettering to spine and gilt vignette to upper cover, in the original pictorial dustwrapper. Striking black and white illustrations throughout. A very good copy, some very light rubbing to lower cover, in a very good dustwrapper, some short closed tears and creases, the spine faded.
Yunge-Bateman's stylistic black and white illustrations make Shakespeare's long narrative poem of dark desire and revenge even more intense.
