Finely bound for Coupil & Co. in brown full morocco with gilt borders, raised bands and gilt tooling to the spine, gilt dentelles, marbled end papers and all edges gilt. Full page plates and in-text illustrations in black and white by Henry Courtney Selous. A near fine set with a few scuffs to the boards and some foxing to the preliminaries.
An exceptionally handsome and sumptous production of Cassell's Illustrated Shakespeare, edited by Shakespeare scholars, Charles and Mary Cowden Clarke.
