Colour frontispiece, and sixty-six further colour illustrations, all under captioned tissue guards, including one woodcut by Cruikshank. A near fine copy, some spotting to the page edges. Bookplate to front pastedown.
One of 3,000 copies, originally published at 20/-. The plates are the illustrations for Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, The Miser's Daughter by William Harrison Ainsworth, and The History of the Irish Rebellion by W.H. Maxwell and the text consists of extracts from the three books. Fine copies such as this are uncommon in commerce.
