Special Holiday Edition. Original quarter cloth over illustrated paper covered boards in matching dustwrapper. All housed in original box with title label to lid baring the legend, "Merry Christmas". E.H.Shepard's colour illustrations to the dustwrapper and line drawings throughout accompanying Milne's poems. A fine copy in a fine dustwrapper, exceptionally clean and crisp. The box has repair to one side, but is unusually well preserved.
A large paper special gift edition of Milne's first book of poetry for children, very rarely encountered in such lovely condition with the original box. It introduces the reader to Winnie the Pooh (known here simply as 'Teddy Bear') and Christopher Robin, in Vespers, Buckingham Palace and others.
