First edition illustrated by Nielsen. 4to. Original blue cloth with elaborate gilt lettering and decoration, with the original dustwrapper. Pictorial endpapers, twelve colour plates and lots of black and white drawings. Each page of text also has a decorative header. A fine and bright copy, neat owner's name to front endpaper, in a near fine dustwrapper which shows just the slightest wear to the extremities.
Includes many favourite fairy tales including; The Tinder Box, The Real Princess and The Snow Queen. Nielsen's illustrations capture the magical quality of the tales and his princesses are as beautiful as every child imagines them.
Scarce in the jacket, especially in such nice condition.
