Four volumes of Rackham's Christmas Books. First editions, Editions de Luxe. Each title is signed and numbered by the artist, with varying limitation sizes and numbers between the works: The Night Before Christmas (number 10 of 275 UK-bound copies); The King of the Golden River (out-of-series copy, one of 575); Goblin Market (261 of 410 copies); The Pied Piper of Hamelin (number 150 of 410 copies).8vo. Publisher's full white, limp vellum with gilt lettering. Top edge gilt and others untrimmed. All with original card slipcases, printed paper labels to edges. Pictorial endpapers. Each work with colour frontispiece and 3 further colour plates, plus line drawings in the text A fine set, with just occasional light spots, but overall in remarkably fresh condition. Slipcases with slight corner wear, but bright and attractive. Housed together in a custom solander box with four separate red morocco spines with gilt titles and raised bands.
It is uncommon to find complete sets of Rackham's Christmas books in such fine, original state.
