First edition, second issue. 8vo. Green pictorial cloth, lettered in gilt, with a design printed in black and white. Top edge gilt. Sixty eight colour illustrations under captioned tissue guards. Fold out map to the rear. A near very good copy, foxed throughout, but cloth and gilt generally bright.
British New Guinea, The Solomon Islands and The New Hebrides. A contemporary review described the book as "a vivd impression of the exquisite scenery of the Pacific islands, and of the natives, their dwellings, costumes, manners and customs." (Melbourne Argus)
