Eighty colour illustrations, under captioned tissue guards, reproduced from Allingham's watercolours. Black and white photographic frontispiece portrait of the artist. A very good copy indeed, some light foxing.

Helen Allingham was a Victorian watercolourist, particularly noted for her delicate depiction of cottages and cottage gardens in southern England, though there are also one or two paintings here of Ireland and Venice. She became the first woman to be admitted as a full member of The Royal Watercolour Society.
