Eighty colour illustrations, under captioned tissue guards, reproduced from Allingham's watercolours, plus frontispiece black and white photographic portrait. A near fine copy, sporadic foxing throughout, but generally a bright and attractive copy.

Helen Allingham was a Victorian watercolorist, particularly noted for her delicate depiction of cottages and cottage gardens in southern England. She became the first woman to be admitted as a full member of The Royal Watercolour Society.
