Second impression. 8vo. Dark blue cloth, lettered in gilt, and with a floral design in red and green to the spine and upper cover. Top edge gilt. Eighty colour illustrations, under captioned tissue guards, reproduced from Allingham's watercolours, plus frontispiece black and white photographic portrait. A near fine copy, sporadic foxing throughout, but generally a bright and attractive copy.

One of 3000 copies, published at a price of 20/-.
Helen Allingham was a Victorian watercolorist, particularly noted for her delicate depiction of cottages and cottage gardens in southern England. She became the first woman to be admitted as a full member of The Royal Watercolour Society.
