First edition, second issue. 4to. Brown pictorial cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and in cream on the upper cover. Design printed in blue, cream and black. Thirty two colour plates by Christmas, and 64 black and white photographs. Colour fold out map at the rear. A fine copy, clean and bright.
Slightly larger than the other books in the 20/- series, with a print run of 3,000 copies. This is the first time the book was published with colour illustrations - the text had originally been published by Kegan Paul Trench, Treubner & Co. in 1910 with black and white photographs.
