First edition, number 230 (of approximately 250 copies) of the special limited edition, signed and numbered by the author. First state of the text with page number on title page. Publisher's quarter black cloth over screen printed linen covered boards with jazz-age design in red and black and gold. Gilt title panel to the spine. Decorative endpapers and Art Deco style decorations in colour throughout by Gilbert Rumbold. A near fine copy with just a trace of wear to the spine and minor rubbing to the gilt on the spine, but the susceptible linen in exceptionally bright and crisp condition. An unusually well preserved copy.
Harry Craddock was probably the foremost cocktail barman of the 1920s and 30s. He left the USA during Prohibition and worked at the American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in London.
