Full purple morocco, lettered in gilt on the spine and with a stylised Jack of Hearts inlaid in green, red and gilt on the upper cover. All edges gilt. Paint splash endpapers, with elaborately tooled gilt turn ins. Profusely illustrated throughout with colour and black and white photographic images from paintings detailing scenes and characters from Casanova's life A fine copy (previous owner's name on initial blank page) in the original publisher's box.
