The Thames Or graphic illustrations of seats, villas, public buildings and picturesque scenery on the Banks of that Noble River.
Vernor, Hood & Sharpe, 1811.
First edition. Two volumes, half tan polished calf over marbled boards. Raised bands to the spine, green leather title label, lettered and embellished in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Eighty-four delicate etchings of views of the Thames, from drawings by Samuel Owen engraved by the author. A very good set indeed, a little rubbing to the edges and corners, and occasional spotting internally but generally very attractive.
These chapters were originally published in monthly parts between May 1809 and April 1811.
