First edition. Original blue cloth. Author's presentation copy, inscribed on the front endpaper "To George Spence, gratefully André L. Simon." Underneath Simon's inscription is written "see page 10 re:-G.H.C.S." and on page ten is Simon's recount Spence's great kindness towards him at the time of his father's death, this passage marked in the same blue ink as the note on the endpaper. A very good copy.
