First UK edition. 4to. Paper covered pictorial boards in pictorial dustwrapper. With a contemporary inscription by Bemelmans on the front endpaper, " To Diane Rhodes / Ludwig Bemelmans, 1952" together with an ink sketch of Madeline. Illustrated in colour and line by the author. A very good copy indeed, in a very good dustwrapper, with some light scuffs.
There was plenty of fun and excitement in Paris for Madeline and her little school mates (burb)
