MORRISON,Arthur A Child of the Jago

Methuen & Co., 1896.

First edition. Original green ribbed cloth, lettered in gilt to spine and upper cover. A very good copy, spine gilt a little dulled and foxing to the fore edge.

One of Morrison's "East End Trilogy", describing in graphic detail the living conditions and casual violence of every life. Generally considered to be the most popular of his novels, it was a barely fictionalised account of life in the Old Nichol Street Rookery.
