First edition with illustrations by Jessie Willcox Smith. 4to. Blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and colour onlay to the upper cover. Top edge gilt. In the pictorial dustwrapper. Pictorial endpapers. Pictorial title page and 10 colour plates, as well as many line drawings throughout. A very good copy, boards are bright as the have been protected by the dustwrapper. There is a previous owners inscription on the front endpaper and some pencil indentations affecting the plate at page 190. The dustwrapper has some shallow chipping to the spine top.
