Four volumes. 4to. Handsomely bound in contemporary half calf, elaborately embossed in gilt to the spines and marbled boards. Sixty eight engraved and lithographic maps and plates (1 tinted, some folding and some double page ) and 200 wood engravings. A very good copy indeed, bright, clean and attractive, joints sometime refurbished. A most handsome set of this rare county history. Occasional neat marginalia.
This work is generally considered the most in depth history of the county of Buckinghamshire and was published some months after the death of its author. Descriptions include Marlow, Hambleden and Turville.
