First edition. Number 75 of 100 signed by Lord Cornwallis, author of the preface, and Prince Philip, then Duke of Edinburgh, author of the foreword. Publisher's tan calf with a shire motif on the front board in gilt, five raised bands to the spine, with titles in gilt and floral motifs in the spine compartments. All edged gilt. Marbled endpapers. Eight colour and 64 black and white plates. A very good copy, with a faded spine and some signs of wear to both boards and the spine.
