First edition. 8vo. Red boards lettered in black in the original Dorothy Wheeler illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated in black and white by Dorothy Wheeler, with both full page drawings and many smaller drawings in the text. A very good book indeed, cloth and contents bright, a contemporary gift inscription on the front endpaper. The dustwrapper is also very good, looking clean and bright. There is some chipping to the top of the spine (approx. 1cm) no lettering is affected and there are also a few short closed tears and some light creasing. Uncommonly nice copy of this rare wartime production.
