Chatto & Windus, 1907.

First edition. Royal 8vo. Brown cloth, lettered and decorated in dark brown on the upper cover and lettered in gilt on the spine. Forty eight coloured plates and twelve sepia plates, by Yoshio Markino. A very good copy indeed.

Markino was a Japanese artist who spent much of his time in London. Full of his charming paintings of Edwardian London, they are done in a style similar to the Japanese prints and watercolours of the time.
