First edition. 8vo. Original maroon cloth with gilt lettering and vignette, in pictorial dustwrapper. Top edge gilt. Loosely inserted is the publishers' advertising flier for Toad of Toad Hall. Pictorial end papers and line drawings by E.H. Shepard. A very good copy indeed, contemporary ownership inscription to the half title and portrait of Christopher Robin and Pooh tipped in. In a poor dustwrapper, chipped and with tape repair to rear flap.
