First edition of this combined book of verses, with new colour illustrations by E. H. Shepard and a new preface by A. A. Milne, first issue with blue cloth, gilt lettering and vignette, in the original pictorial dustwrapper, with printed price of 8/6 net. 8vo. Top edge blue. Twelve colour plates and many line drawings by E.H. Shepard. A fine copy, some spotting to the page edges, in a bright, near fine dustwrapper.
It was always probable that, sooner or later, the two books of verse which I had written for and about children would come together within the covers of one volume... the invention of a title has proved too much for me. All I can think of is The Christopher Robin Verses. New colour illustrations by E.H. Shepard accompany Milne's now famous poems, Vespers, The King's Breakfast, Lines and Squares and many others.
