First edition. Number 10 of 460 copies of the deluxe issue, signed by Arthur Rackham. 8vo. Publisher's full white vellum, with gilt titles. Top edge gilt and others untrimmed, yellow silk page marker present. Pictorial endpapers, eight colour plates and sixty black and white illustrations. A very good copy indeed, the covers a little dusty, but very clean and fresh internally. Bookplate to first blank.
There is a two page preface to this book written by Arthur Rackham in which he explains how he has chosen the fairy tales in this book. The tales are a selection of well known fairy stories; including, Sindbad the Sailor, Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Jack the Giant Killer, Cinderella and the Emperor's New Clothes. Although some of the stories have been previously illustrated by Rackham, all the illustrations for this book are new and have never been published before.
