First edition. 8vo. Errata leaf to rear. Original publisher's purple bevelled cloth with blind stamped ruled borders and floral corner devices to covers and titles in gilt to upper cover. Twelve engraved plates including a double page frontispiece of Thame Church. A very good copy, slightly cocked and faded to upper cover and spine. Ownership signature to front free endpaper.

The list of subscribers suggests that scarcely more than 300 copies would have been printed.
