First edition, number 157 of 750 copies of the large paper edition. Signed by Arthur Rackham. Large 4to. White buckram with gilt lettering and vignette. Top edge gilt and others untrimmed. Pictorial endpapers with delicate fairy scenes from Midsummer Nights Dream. Thirteen colour plates mounted within borders and with captions printed below. Plus numerous small black and white drawings as chapter headings and tail pieces. Includes the plate of Puck, which is not present in the trade edition. A very good copy indeed.
Contains some of Shakespeare's best known plays, including: The Tempest, Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet etc.
