The Book of the Thames
Bennet, 1867.
First edition thus, with original photographs. 8vo. Original purple cloth, elaborately decorated in gilt with round photographic onlay to upper cover. All edges gilt. Fifteen plates of original mounted photographs by Francis Frith, mainly in very good order, occasional light fading and photograph of Hampton with a tiny abrasion. One hundred and forty woodcuts in the text. A very good copy, generally attractive, but with some loss to the photographic onlay on the upper cover and repaired hinges.
