The title page is elaborately decorated in black and white and makes a stunning beginning to the play. A near fine example, with the slightest bumping to the spine tip.
The magic of Shakespeare's play, with the lively spirit Ariel, Caliban the monster, a ship wreck and love story all create the perfect foil for Rackham's pen. His drawings for this book mark something of a departure from earlier work, introducing a bolder style and colour palette, whilst losing none of his humour or attention to detail.
