Second preliminary script for the LWT television dramatisation of Scoop. Photocopied typescript in original rivet bound wrappers. Actor Denholm Elliott's copy, with a note from Casting Director, Diana Parry on LWT notepaper, "DENHOLM ELLIOTT, "SCOOP" herewith. The part is 'SALTER' the Foreign Editor..." A near fine copy.
William Boyd's dramatisation of Waugh's famous satire on sensationalist journalists, was his first foray into writing screenplays. Although heralded as an up and coming author at the time, Boyd had only written three novels and a couple of volumes of short stories and was comparatively little known at the time.
