Photographic frontispiece, thirty further photographic illustrations across fifteen plates, and a full page map of Lahul and Spiti. A near fine copy of the book, with a little fading to the spine, in a very good example of the rare dustwrapper, with some fading to the panels, toning to the spine which a 1cm diameter repaired chip to its centre.
An account of the noted ornithologist's exploration of the Western Himalayan provinces of Kulu, Lahul and Spiti, during his service for the Indian Imperial Police. Copies in the dustwrapper are most uncommon, with no other examples, including the Brooke-Hitching copy, recorded in commerce.
