First edition. Crepe book. 14.6 x 19.4cm. Silk stab ties and wraparound card case, with one original bone clasp. 82 numbered pages. Printed on crepe the book is decorated to almost every page with delicately coloured woodblock illustrations by Mishima Yunosuke, Yoshimune and Arai Shiujiro. A near fine copy of this delicate book, one section towards the fore-edge has a slight depression from the original case. The pictorial case is complete and attractive, with some light marks and dustiness, bone clasps in good order.
The verse is in sections with the following headings: Poems of Affection, Poems of the Nature, Realities of Life, Poems of Court, Miscellaneous Poems and finally Epic Poems.
