Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch died before completing this novel updating the tragic love story of Tristan and Iseult. In 1959 his daughter, Foy, asked her great friend, Daphne du Maurier, to complete the novel. Du Maurier herself wrote of the completed work "I like to think that...he would have turned to me, with a quiet half-smile, and murmured, "Well, child, you were more observant than I thought. This is happily done."" [Blurb]
"I was nineteen when we first came to live in Fowey and the great man of the district, indeed the whole of Cornwall, was Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch ("Q")... It was a great day for me when, after some preliminary gestures of friendship on the part of his daughter, Foy, I was invited to Sunday supper." wrote Du Maurier. [Blurb]
