Two original imperial albumen photographs (each 11'' x 8 1/2'') by Stearn & Sons, the first of the First Trinity Cambridge eight for 1908 and the second an action photo of the Regatta course and the finish of their race against Pembroke College Cambridge. The pair mounted side by side with hand coloured crests of the Trinity boat clubs and calligraphic script "First Trinity Boat Club / Henley Royal Regatta 1908 / Ladies Chall. Cup", with the names and weights of the crew written underneath. Framed and glazed. In all 30'' x 17 1/2''.
The Rowing Almanack for 1909 comments on the race, "Both crews started at 40, and First were the first to show in front... First were better together than their rivals, and maintained their lead at Fawley... Pembroke hung on gamely, and spurted along the enclosure. First just held their own, and won by a third of a length in 7m 22s."
