Tootleoo Two
Nonesuch Press, 1927.
First edition. Oblong quarto. Tan paper covered boards illustrated with blue silhouette drawings. Twenty colour plates in a style reminiscent of William Nicholson's children's books. The comic story is all written in verse telling of the adventures of the Tootleoo family who live on a desert island and their encouter with St George's dragon. A very good copy indeed, bright and fresh, with occasional light finger marking to margins.
The second book of the adventures of Mr Tootleoo, told by Bernard Darwin, usually more associated with his golfing literature, and illustrated by his wife.
